Anja
Anja is a dancer and student currently based in Milford, Connecticut, and Washington, DC.
Her early dance training began at the Lee Lund Studio of Dance and in high school, she attended the ACES Educational Center for the Arts to study modern dance and choreography.
Anja is a fourth-year undergraduate student at American University in Washington, DC, studying Dance and International Relations with a concentration in human rights. She is a member of the American University Dance Company and has performed annually in the Choreographic Laboratory, Senior Capstone, and Danceworks shows with a focus on structured improvisation.
Anja recently studied abroad in Berlin, Germany, and had the privilege to continue her dance training at Tanzfabrik and Marameo where she took frequent classes in contemporary, improvisation, and Gaga/people.
Anja is interested in the intersection of her identity and artistry and hopes to create a senior thesis drawing inspiration from her experiences as an Asian-American woman to amplify diverse voices in the performing arts industry.
