Dancing in college gave Julia a new appreciation for the role dance played in her life, realizing how much of a healing practice it had been all these years.

At the age of three, Julia Satterlee began her dance journey at the Lee Lund Studio of Dance in Milford, CT. Growing up, she trained in multiple styles including modern, contemporary, horton, ballet, jazz, and tap. During her time at Lee Lund, Julia had the privilege of dancing under the talented influence of artists such as Debi Passarelli, Ambere Rogers, Tina Kershaw (horton), Gigi Armstrong, Katherine Hooper from BoSoma Dance Company, and Evan DeBenedetto.

Julia is currently taking a gap year from school; she is enrolled as an undergraduate student at the University of Vermont, where she is studying Environmental Studies and Dance. It was here that Julia was exposed more to improvisation, and became particularly intrigued by the works of Isadora Duncan – specifically the way in which Isadora’s movement came from within. Julia has just recently resumed her dance journey following a back injury, and is grateful for Tara’s encouragement and supportive energy which brought her back to the stage.
